I play golf frequently, which energizes me. Vacations have never appealed to me, and since I own some fantastic golf courses, I can work and play at the same time in very beautiful environments. It's an ideal way to unwind while remaining productive.

I find regular work stress relatively easy to deal with by carefully listing out all the things that are really important in the long term and comparing them to the things that stress me out right now. Most of the time, it becomes clear that acute stress is a result of choosing immediate priorities in some irrational way, at which point it can be managed. No matter how good one can be about this, stress does build up, even if you understand its origins. My way of unwinding is putting in 80 or 90 hard miles on a road bike in Marin County, [Calif.], starting really early on Saturday mornings. The views are breathtaking, there are very few people around (except for other cyclists), and you can go very fast. Some of the climbs are quite hard, but finding a good rhythm gives one an amazing sense of balance that makes the whole experience incredibly rewarding.

Chief Executive, Viacom
I rise at 5, ride an exercise bike, run on a treadm ill, and read the financial reports until the markets open. I eat lots of fish and get plenty of antioxidants.

I rarely feel stress…. I think it's because I can turn things on and off relatively quickly. When I have down time—on a plane, in a hotel room, at home—I might read the paper and play Sudoku. Those help me totally turn off.
